Privacy Policy

Effective August 1, 2026

Cookulate ("we," "us," "our") makes a meal-planning app for iOS. This policy explains what information Cookulate collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It applies to the Cookulate app and this website.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email Apple chooses to share (Apple lets you hide your real email behind a private relay address, and Cookulate works fine either way). Your password is handled entirely by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see or store it in plain text.
• Content you create. Recipes you save (names, ingredients, steps, photos, your own notes and ratings), the meals you plan for each week, your grocery list activity, and the pantry items you choose to track.
• Recipe photos and links. When you import a recipe by taking a photo or pasting a link, that photo or the linked page's content is processed to pull out the ingredients and steps, as described below.

How we use it

We use this information to run the app: storing your recipes, building your weekly meal plan, generating a combined grocery list, and tracking your pantry. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.

Who we share it with

Cookulate relies on a small number of service providers to work. Each one only receives what it needs to do its specific job:

• Supabase — hosts our database and handles account authentication.
• Anthropic — powers the recipe extraction that reads ingredients and steps out of a photo or a pasted link.
• Apple — provides Sign in with Apple, if you choose to use it.

None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own advertising purposes. We don't use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in Cookulate.

Your choices

You can edit or delete any recipe, meal, or pantry item directly in the app at any time. To delete your account, go to Profile and tap Delete Account. This immediately and permanently removes your account along with every recipe, meal plan, grocery list, and pantry item associated with it — there's no waiting period, and we can't recover it afterward. If you'd rather we handle it for you, email hello@cookulateapp.com instead.

Children's privacy

Cookulate is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
